A transmission that slips, shudders, or won't shift isn't always a broken transmission — often it's an electrical fault telling it to act broken. Finding that takes a scope and someone who knows what the numbers should look like. Replacing the transmission just takes a parts order.

Diagnosis is $150 for the first hour.
That buys real diagnostic time and a written explanation of what's actually wrong with your car — yours to keep, whatever you decide to do next. We don't credit it back, because the diagnosis is the work. One of the cars above came in with an $8,000 estimate for a new transmission and went home for $325.

Brakes, an oil change, an exhaust, a part you've already had diagnosed — just bring it in. The $150 is for the hard ones — the problem that took a scope and a scan tool to actually find.
Intermittent electrical faults are quoted as a two-hour block.
A fault that only happens when the car is cold, or hot, or over a bump, cannot honestly be found in an hour. We'd rather tell you that up front than run the clock.
We don't quote repairs over the phone.
Guessing at a price for a car we haven't seen is how people end up paying for the wrong repair. Call and describe it, and we'll tell you honestly whether it's worth bringing in.
We generally don't install customer-supplied parts.
We warranty our work, and we can only do that if we chose the part.

This is a limited warranty covering the parts we installed and the labor to install them, for the repair we performed. It doesn't cover unrelated failures, damage from neglect or an accident, or work done by someone else after we finished. Ask us for the full written terms — we'll give you a copy with every repair.

Jesus "Jesse" Trevino — owner, ASE Certified Master Technician. He's been working on cars since 1985 and running this shop on South State Street since June 2004. Everyone calls him Jesse. When you call, that's who you're asking for.
Mynor Bol is an apprentice, learning transmission rebuild. Luis Bradley handles general repair and has been here since 2016.
